Projects are expensive , if you know about team behavior in advance, project can save millions of dollars. If there is a way for product owner to know If team does what they say will do. Team uses their resources wisely. Team commits to what they can handle, over commit or task padding issue. Team communicates properly Team members are dynamic and their thinking ability, common sense are good. Teams performance is high consistently, if there are any rewards for achieving weekly (sprint period) targets, team goes for it. Team is well aware of dependency and works independently without blocking too much. Numbers of iterations to achieve the task are less. Changes are not reverted and tested properly. Team can concentrate and not distracted social network/ personal issues/ phones/ texts/ stocks /surfing etc. Scrum master can plan ahead, gets the best out of team members, helps/guides them achieve their targets. The art of finding if somebody is good before reviewing their resume. It can save lot of time and efforts of scanning resume. If product owner has answers to all these, project execution will be much smoother. The chances of good product, deadlines, budget, team moral/motivation will be very high. Instead of rewarding in the year-end, the team should be rewarded frequently when they outperform. Agile Team selection is 3-phase process and can be completed in less than 2 hours. The product owner and team should meet in conference room or over lunch and conduct this process without any distraction.
